Our President has left for yet another vacation. And the market dropped another 400 points. Is this his idea of 'leading from behind'?

Or is that a metaphor for where he gets his ideas about leadership?

Never have I seen or read about a President as incompetent and totally lost as this man we have now.

What might those sacrifices be? Perhaps only golfing a couple of times a week?

This man is a total waste of time and effort. He doesn't have a clue and will lie about anything to cover himself. That the American people are stupid enough to elect him in the first place does not bode well for our country.

Turned on the TV to check the movies. Rosebud is on. See if this synopsis sounds at all familiar...

In a seemingly bold move, a Palestinian terrorist group kidnaps five daughters from a yacht, and then demand that film clips be shown on major European television stations. It is up to one undercover agent to hunt them down and save the day.

The movie was made in 1975. The only things that change are the actors - Peter O'Toole and Richard Attenborough.

Harvard and Yale

Now here is a sad story for those of you who went far enough in school to actually read and comprehend. Harvard and Yale have taken some serious hits to their endowments. Harvard's endowment is down 30% to a mere $26 billion. No, that's not a typo - that's billion with a B. How do they expect to run a school with only that much money sitting off to the side to be used to supplement their tuition fees? Yale is down to a mere $16 billion. My heart bleeds for them and the bleeding heart liberals that have taken them over.

You want stimulation? Consider this - the Stimulus bill that was just passed is somewhere between 1000 and 1500 pages of type and not a single congressman had read the thing prior to voting on it. This was the largest financial package in the history of Congress and they passed it without reading it.

If that doesn't stimulate you to throw the bums out at the next election cycle - sooner if possible - then America is truly lost. I fear Amerika is truly lost.

More Change? Don't Count on It!

Washington DC is inculcated with a culture of deceit, privilege, arrogance, and and just plain cheating. The change we have seen is from an inept administration (and I was a Bush fan) to a corrupt administration. The difference is who is receiving the privilege, who is benefiting from the cheating.

Our 'His Arrogance in Chief' won and so it will be done HIS way. And his way evidently bears no resemblance to his outrageous campaign rhetoric of a clean administration. We have lobbyists in our executive offices (how are tricks Mr. Murtha?), we have a speaker of the house (Nancy Pelosi) who I believe is 'non-partisan' because she does not know the meaning of the word, and a Senate majority leader, a reed blowing in the wind who is a hopeless windbag of non-ideas.

We are living in interesting times. Hang on. Pray. I don't believe we have the power, gumption, where with all, to change it any longer.

New Cabinet

The right to be Wright

I have been following the antics of Obama and Jeremiah with a grin (for the most part). I was most interested in Mr. Wright's recent assertion that preaching in black churches was different. I'll say. When did black preachers stop preaching the Gospel? Or is politics the best way to get people to change these days? For some reason every time I see or hear Jeremiah Wright an image of Al Sharpton flashes through my mind. Followed by Jesse Jackson. And that's not a positive image in my mind.

I will admit that I spend probably too much time trying to decide where my Christian duty ends and my citizenship begins. The truth is my Christian duty doesn't really have an end. At least not in this world. And that settles the second part of the question in my mind. Just where is your citizenship?

HD Crash

This week we had our first problem with our 2 year old eMachines laptop. Seems the hard drive wasn't being recognized. After much checking I determined it was indeed a dead hard drive. So the search started for a replacement. I went to CompUSA looking and they had a bunch of 2.5 inch drives - all out of my budget range by a long shot. The clerk (very helpful and knowledgeable) suggested that if I didn't mind off brand products they had a sale on Centon hard drives. A 60 gig unit would run me about $95. That was a lot closer to my budget so I took it home. It installed without a hitch and is up and running but the interesting thing is that the hard drive is clearly labeled as being made by Toshiba. Not that much of an off brand in my book. Let's see how long it lasts. Oh, and I institute a backup program this week - for sure.
